August 1996:
blueberries The berry patch tayberries
Alpenglow Farms began growing berries in the lush Nooksack River Valley of Northwest Washington State, the raspberry capital of North America. We also established a roadside farmstand for the sale of fresh berries, fruit, pastries, specialty farm foods and our famous fruit fudge and Berry Fudge Tartlets.

Farm Stand
The Alpenglow Farm Stand was established to provide travelers on the Mount Baker Highway with a unique, enjoyable, and fruitful experience. Our guest books show the popularity of the farm stand and our products with visitors from all over the globe.

Unfortunately, flooding events in 2003, caused the Nooksack river bank rip-rap to erode, flow over the berry fields, and to close the Mount Baker Highway on an number of occassions. Local and state governments have since refused to take proactive measures to repair the river bank and protect the immediate area, including the Mount Baker Hiway from further flood damage. The loss of the farmland, the majority of the berry fields and the continued risk resulted in the closure of the Alpenglow Farmstand.

At this time, we provide fresh blueberries at the farmstand during July and August, and may open periodically from time to time. We wish to thank all our past customers and friends for thier patronage and support.
